The telegraph was one of the most important inventions to the Civil War because of the way it the movement of soldiers as well as the communication between officers. Generals could now act tens of times faster to events in the battle and counter these events with orders to his soldiers.

The effects of the telegram on the history of the United States is almost unimaginable. It is truly impossible to even imagine to the slightest degree what would have happened. The telegram is so incredible because it impacted not only the war but the culture of teh unite d States itself.
